Do women belong in combat?


     With new laws mandating that all positions in the military be open to women by 2016, the topic of whether women can physically, emotionally and socially fit into historically male-dominated roles is hotly debated.

     This website is designed as an educational platform to provide basic information about the different sides of the issue as well as the instuctions to a game about the issue and links to sources and video for more information.

In 2013, then Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta, announced that by 2016, all combat roles in the military must be made avaliable to women, or specific exemptions be requested.  Since then, several programs have begun trial periods to see if women can compete with the men in some of the Armed Forces most challengin training courses including Army Rangers, Marine Infanty Officers and Marine Infantry Enlisted training.
